Anker Intelligence™ : How AI Optimises Your Solar Self-Consumption
Anker Intelligence™ does more than just store energy — it decides when to store it, when to consume it and when to buy electricity from the grid. Here is how this AI works continuously to reduce your electricity bill, even while you sleep.
Most solar batteries operate according to a simple principle : they charge when the panels produce electricity and discharge when you consume it. That is already better than having no battery. But it is far from optimal.
The problem : your consumption does not match your production. You are away during the day when the sun is shining, and you consume electricity in the evening and morning when the panels produce nothing. Without intelligence, a large amount of energy is wasted or purchased at the wrong time. That is precisely what Anker Intelligence™ solves.
What Anker Intelligence™ actually does
Anker Intelligence™ is an AI-powered energy optimisation system integrated into the Solarbank 3. It aggregates three real-time data sources to make autonomous decisions about managing your energy :
| Data source | What the AI analyses | Resulting decision |
|---|---|---|
| Day-ahead weather forecasts | Expected sunshine, cloud cover, temperature | Adjusts the target charge level for the night |
| Real-time electricity prices | Peak/off-peak prices, dynamic pricing, off-peak periods | Decides when to buy from the grid and when to discharge |
| Consumption habits | Hourly consumption profile learned over 30 days | Anticipates peaks and reserves energy accordingly |
The result : a system that no longer reacts to events — it anticipates them. The battery is always at the optimal state of charge for what will happen over the next few hours, not for what has just happened.
The scenario that changes everything : anticipating a cloudy day
This is the clearest example for understanding the value of AI. Compare two systems facing a forecast cloudy day :
Wednesday morning : the battery is empty and the panels are not producing. You buy electricity at peak morning rates.
Estimated cost : 0,28 €/kWh × 8h = 2,24 €
Recharges from the grid at 2h in the morning using the off-peak rate.
Wednesday morning : the battery is full and the home is powered by electricity purchased cheaply overnight.
Estimated cost : 0,12 €/kWh × 8h = 0,96 €
In this example alone : 1,28 € saved in one night. Multiply this by the cloudy autumn and winter days in France — around 120 days/year — and you get more than 150 € in additional annual savings, solely through weather forecasting.
Dynamic pricing : the real driver of savings
In France, electricity prices vary according to the time of day (Peak Hours / Off-Peak Hours) and, increasingly, according to dynamic pricing offers linked to the wholesale market spot price. The price per kWh can range from 0,08 € to 0,35 € depending on the time of day and the season.

with smart meter + AI
Anker Intelligence™ is connected to more than 830 electricity suppliers via the SOLIX app (software update v3.15.0, January 2026). It accesses real-time prices and automatically schedules charging cycles from the grid during the cheapest periods — generally between 1h and 6h in the morning.
« By using AI to improve how its products operate, Anker SOLIX offers households an ideal solution for optimising home energy. Whether reducing electricity bills, stabilising the grid or facilitating electric vehicle charging, this innovation significantly improves the user experience. »

Surplus management : wasting nothing
Another common problem : very sunny days when your panels produce more than you consume and more than your battery can store. Without intelligence, this surplus is injected into the grid at a very low feed-in rate (0,04 €/kWh in France).
Anker Intelligence™ anticipates this surplus by analysing the next day's production forecasts. When it detects a likely surplus, it alerts you — and if you have SOLIX smart plugs, it automatically activates high-consumption appliances (washing machine, dishwasher, water heater) during periods of high solar production.
How it works in practice
- Tuesday evening : the AI predicts a very sunny Wednesday. It schedules the washing machine for 11h and the dishwasher for 13h.
- Wednesday 11h : the panels are producing at full power. The washing machine consumes free energy instead of electricity from the grid.
- Wednesday 14h : the battery is full and the appliances have run. The remaining surplus is injected into the grid — but it has been minimised.
- Result : savings on two appliance cycles + a full battery for the evening.
What you need to benefit from it
Anker Intelligence™ operates at different levels depending on the connected accessories :
| Configuration | Available functions | Estimated additional savings |
|---|---|---|
| Solarbank 3 alone | Smart charging/discharging, basic dynamic pricing | +50–80 €/year |
| + Anker Smart Meter | Real-time consumption monitoring, precise discharge adjustment, +31 % self-consumption | +150–200 €/year |
| + SOLIX smart plugs | Automatic appliance control, surplus management, maximum optimisation | +200–300 €/year |
The Smart Meter is the component that makes the biggest difference. Without it, the Solarbank estimates your consumption. With it, it measures it — and the adjustment is accurate to within a few hundred watts.
What Anker Intelligence™ cannot do
For completeness, here are a few important limitations to be aware of :
Key takeaways
Anker Intelligence™ transforms a solar battery into an active energy management system. It does more than store energy — it continuously balances three sources (panels, grid, battery) and three objectives (minimise costly purchases, maximise self-consumption, avoid wasted surplus).
For a standard installation with Smart Meter, the additional savings generated by AI compared with a battery without intelligence amount to 150 to 300 €/year — a significant proportion of the estimated total savings of 854 €/year for the Solarbank 3 E2700 Pro kit.
Anker Intelligence™ included, Smart Meter compatible, expandable up to 16,1 kWh. In stock in France.
